A: AYSO and Little League as well as other organized leagues may not have play time requirements similar to NJB. Players on a Division team are required to play 2 out of the first four quarters in a game. This means we cannot have more than 10 players on a team roster in order to meet the play time requirement. If we have 15 players, we will form 2 teams and have a group of 5 players wait listed.
If we are able to recruit enough players to form an additional team the wait listed players will be added to a roster based upon our Team Formation Guidelines.
Q: Our daughter had been waitlisted, and has now been assigned to a team. Now that we know the team she is assigned to we want to withdraw from NJB, and would like 100% refund as the season has not started.
A: If you had requested the withdraw prior to the Team Formation process you would have received 100% refund. However, now that your daughter was added to a team roster the refund is only 50%.
The reason for the refund policy is to discourage players from leaving NJB based upon who their teammates or coach is. Once your daughter was added to a roster she was no longer wait listed, and was no longer eligible for a full refund. It is not relevant as to which roster your daughter is assigned to or who the coach is, or if the team assignment changes.....
If the withdraw happens after the first game of the season there is no refund.
Q: What is All-Net?
A: All-Net is a more competitive program that utilizes high-school rules. Players must be selected to make the All-Net teams. Tryouts for All-Net teams are open to everyone registered. Tryouts are usually in mid-October. Players selected to All-Net are required to pay an additional fee.
Q: How many All-Net tryouts will there be?
A: The number of tryouts is determined by the coach. The final roster may be set after one tryout, or there may be a series of tryouts. Tryouts are also open to players outside the chapter and additional tryouts may be provided in order to allow those players an opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
Q: When are games played?
A: Games are played on Sundays.
Q: What about practices?
A: Teams start practicing typically in the beginning of November. Practices are typically at local middle schools. Our goal is to provide about 2 practices per week depending on gym availability. Because schedules tend to change, we cannot promise any certain practice days or locations at the time of registration.
Q: When will we know our game schedule?
A: The League often provides the season's schedule a few days prior to the first game. This is due to the difficulty in obtaining gym space, and accomodating the schedule requests.
